The 10 Best Darts Players of 2025 (Ranked 10-1)

By Morgan Barrett

There are few periods in darts history where the top 10 is so hard to pick with such a competitive mix of established legends and young phenoms competing at the very top of the sport. Trying to choose the best 10 players is always going to spark debate, but that’s the beauty of it.

With that being said here’s my take on the best 10 players in the world right now:

10. Jonny Clayton

Jonny Clayton still remains a formidable presence in 2025, highlighted by his Dutch Darts Championship win where he beat players like Humphries en route to the title.
He also claimed a Players Championship event and made the final of the Winmau World Masters where he narrowly lost in a deciding leg.

While it’s clear he is not the player he once was, Clayton’s finishing ability and performances on the bigger stages just about keep him in the top 10 for me.

9. Josh Rock

Josh Rock’s 2025 showed us the glimpses of brilliance in his game. He’s recorded several deep runs on the European Tour and consistently pushed the world’s best players to the brink.
The Scotsman showed this year he can compete with the best while his consistency is still developing; it is clear that his ceiling is huge and the constant threat of that ability makes him a dangerous top 10 contender.

8. Stephen Bunting

Stephen Bunting has quietly enjoyed a solid 2025, consistently reaching latter stages of major tournaments and European Tour events whilst taking out several top-ranked players throughout the year.

Whilst he hasn’t captured a major in 2025, his steady form and ability to challenge the elite earns him a deserved spot in the top 10.

7. James Wade

In 2025, James Wade still reaffirmed why he remains a top 10 player in the world. He recorded multiple deep runs in major tournaments including a semi-final appearance in the UK Open and the European Championship. Wade’s consistently great finishing and experience allows him to grind out wins, and his ability to trouble the world’s elite secures him his spot in my top 10.

6. Nathan Aspinall

Nathan Aspinall has enjoyed a strong 2025, claiming two European Tour titles and showing he is back in top form. His wins over top-ranked opponents like Humphries and clutch performances in big matches have re-established him as one of the world’s best.

Consistent results and a rise in the PDC Order of Merit confirms the “Asp’s” place on my list.

5. Gian Van Veen

Gian Van Veen was coming into the year as a rising star but by now he has already stamped himself as one of the best in the world. Winning his first-ever PDC major title when beating Humphries in the European Championship in Dortmund in a great game.

The Dutchman also added his first-ever PDC ranking title at Players Championship Six in Leicester after several finals and runner-up finishes. With a ranking boost and a major title under his belt, Van Veen is no longer a rising star but a present force in the world of darts.

4. Danny Noppert

Danny Noppert’s style of darts will not grab the headlines, but he consistently delivers and over the last year his positional play in big matches has made him a constant threat in the business end of major tournaments.

Noppert is a name darts fans have grown familiar seeing in the latter stages of tournaments, and the consistency secures his spot on my list.

3. Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price has had a resurgence in 2025 and while the Welshman may not dominate every headline like he once did, he still remains one of the best players in the world.
His power scoring and unmatched intensity on the stage is still a huge factor in his game, and while his year had ups and downs, his ceiling is still as high as anyone’s not named Luke.
When the “Iceman” gets rolling he is still capable of causing any player problems.

2. Luke Humphries

Luke Humphries, whilst not having the same success he did last year due to the powerhouse of Littler, Humphries remains the benchmark of the elite. Winning many majors of the past few seasons and consistently being one of the best scorers on tour, Humphries always seems like he’s one great performance away from reclaiming the number one spot.

The ability to always put up long runs in most tournaments and put up huge numbers, “Cool Hand” for me easily is the second-best player in the world.

1. Luke Littler

I don’t think anyone can argue this one; Luke Littler is not just the best player in the world right now, he’s redefining the sport. At only 18, he’s won the World Championship, Premier League, Grand Slam, and there are many more you can include because the list keeps growing.

It’s not just the titles; it’s also the stats, record high averages consistently, and the ability to raise his game when the lights are shining the brightest. All this meaning, he’s not just at the top of the rankings, he’s the force that everyone else can’t get close to right now.
