The 27-year-old Bristolian was removed from the 2025-26 PDC World Darts Championship after his first-round win over Sweden’s Oskar Lukasiak on December 14. The suspension prevented him from facing Welshman Jonny Clayton in the second round.

Taylor later apologised in a Facebook post, citing personal struggles, including family heartbreak and grief, as contributing factors. This follows a previous one-month ban in 2024 for non-performance-enhancing drugs.

At a DRA Disciplinary Committee hearing on January 7, Taylor admitted breaching the Anti-Doping Rules, officially confirming the violation.

The case highlights ongoing challenges in professional darts regarding substance use and player welfare, shedding light on the pressures athletes face both on and off the oche.
