Record Prize Money Confirmed for 2026 World Darts Championship

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is doubling down on its biggest showpiece – literally.

The 2026 PDC World Darts Champion will walk away with a jaw-dropping £1 million, double what teenage sensation Luke Littler earned for lifting the title earlier this year.

💸 Biggest Prize Pot in History

With a total prize fund now hitting a staggering £5 million – up from £2.5 million in 2025 – there’s never been more money on the oche. The runner-up will bag £400,000, and semi-finalists won’t be leaving empty-handed either, pocketing £200,000 each.

🎯 More Players, More Drama

The tournament is expanding, too. In a move that mirrors the sport’s meteoric rise, the 2026 edition will feature 128 players, up from just 96 in the 2024/25 event.

“The £1m prize for the world champion reflects darts’ standing as one of the most exciting and in-demand sports in the world,” said PDC chief executive Matt Porter.

📈 Prize Hikes Across the Board

The PDC isn’t stopping at the World Championship. Prize money across all PDC events is getting a £7 million boost, bringing the 2026 total to a record £25 million.

  • Premier League winner’s cheque increases from £275,000 to £350,000
  • Boosts also incoming for:
    • World Grand Prix
    • Players Championship Finals
    • European Championship
    • UK Open
    • World Cup of Darts
    • World Series of Darts

👩 Women’s Game Gets a Lift

The PDC is also investing more into the game beyond the pro circuit, ramping up support for the Challenge Tour, Development Tour, and Women’s Series. The Women’s World Matchplay will now offer £40,000, a significant uplift as the PDC continues to grow the women’s game.
