The Premier League of Darts is right around the corner, so let’s get to know the class of 2026.
One of two Premier League newcomers this year, Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock is a player with an incredibly high ceiling and has more than earned his place amongst the darts elite. Fans can expect to see a relentless pace, coupled with a powerful scoring prowess from the Rock, who has been playing competitive darts in local pubs since around the age of ten.
‘Rocky’ has been on the PDC tour since 2022, where he burst onto the scene with five PDC Development Tour wins, while also claiming the PDC World Youth Championship that same year, which he won with a record average of just over 104.
A fantastic 2025 campaign saw Josh Rock soar up the PDC order of merit, where he currently sits in ninth, as he reached three major semi-finals: the World Matchplay, UK Open, and World Series Finals, and won Players Championship 10 for his fifth Pro Tour accolade. He teamed with Daryl Gurney at the 2025 World Cup of Darts to immense success, as the pair took the prize back to Northern Ireland for the first time.
Darts aside, Josh Rock is a Rangers and Ballymena United fan, with the latter being his local football team. Before playing darts full-time, Rock worked a job at a chicken factory where he aided in hatching chicks and is a charity ambassador for a children’s autism charity found in Northern Ireland.
This is Josh Rock’s debut year in the Premier League as he sets his sights on his first televised major title.
